    Deal Family Farm, Inc., Franklin, NC, is now hiring 12 temporary Farm Workers to work in Macon County from 6/18/2012 to 11/1/2012. Hourly wage of $9.70 or piece rates ranging from $0.70 per 5/8 bushel to pick tomatoes to $150.00 per 18 bushel bin (group rate) to harvest cayenne pepper, whichever is higher. Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables and fruits including tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, cucumber, squash, pumpkins, beans, sweet corn, potatoes, okra, eggplant, lettuce, zucchini, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, watermelons, and peppers including bell, jalapeno, serrano, cayenne and habanero. As a minor activity load baled straw and hay. Lift up to 50 lbs, work outside in extreme temperatures, including hot, cold and/or wet weather, and climb ladders up to 15 ft. to pick apples. The employer does not employ persons convicted of sex related crimes. Three quarters of an average of 40 hrs./wk guaranteed. Tools, supplies, and equipment provided at no cost. Housing provided at no cost if outside commuting area. If applicable, transportation and subsistence expense to the job will be paid upon completion of 50% of the employment period, or earlier.
