Bedford Education Foundation checks in

The Bedford Education Foundation presented checks to two county schools last week.

A $600 check went to Thaxton Elementary School to help pay for Weekly Readers and Accelerated Readers. The Weekly Reader is the modern version of the publication that elementary school children have read for decades. The Accelerated Reader program is more recent.
