Board wants to rename portion of VA 221 after Putney

-A A +A
By John Barnhart

At the end of Monday night’s Bedford County Board of Supervisors meeting came action on the supervisors legislative priorities, their wish list for what they would like to see the coming General Assembly session take action on.
One item is a request that a portion of Va. 221, the part between the Bedford town limits and the Lynchburg city limits, be renamed the Lacey Putney Memorial Highway. The supervisors would like to have all the signage in place in time to hold the dedication on what would have been Putney’s 90th birthday.
