Volunteers

Of course, Centerfest is about food, art, music, shopping, BMX, and carnival rides! But do you know what makes Centerfest the biggest success? It’s all of our volunteers!
Maybe you’ve been thinking you want to be involved in Centerfest, but you weren’t sure how to make that happen. Have you thought about being a Centerfest volunteer?
As you may know, Centerfest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 27, with a free concert from 6-8 p.m. However, setup for Centerfest occurs the previous evening as volunteers take to the streets to mark off where vendors’ spots are. Setup continues Saturday morning, bright and early at 5 a.m. as our volunteers guide vendors into their spots, help pop-up tents, and get those needing electricity plugged in and ready to go.
Some of our volunteers serve as captains of specific areas of Centerfest and oversee the organization in their zone. These captains are with us from early Saturday morning until the festival wraps up that evening. Our captains are the backbone of the event and their dedication is much appreciated.
Perhaps, being a captain isn’t what you’re striving for. We also have about 30-40 volunteers who work one (or more if they like) two or three hour shifts on the day of the festival. Some volunteers work the information booth at the center of the event. Other volunteers (21+) man the beer truck and pour drinks for a couple of hours. We also have volunteers who sell tickets and check IDs. Some of our volunteers run bottled water to our three music stages. We offer a variety of activities for our volunteers to take on and enjoy!
As you can imagine, we are in the middle of recruiting volunteers for this year’s Centerfest! We take all ages, welcoming both adults and teens to come join the fun! This year we’re offering volunteer t-shirts so you can show your Centerfest spirit! We only ask our volunteers to commit to a single 2-hour shift, though they are welcome to take on more shifts if they like.
If you are interested in being a volunteer at our 33rd annual Centerfest, let us know!
