Friends of Faith Relay Team will host a benefit for the American Cancer Society on Saturday, April 14, beginning at 6 p.m. Featured at the concert will be the Lynch Station’s Men’s Chorus. It will be held at Mountain View Union Church on 460 West near Moose Lodge on Miller Lane.

There will also be a bake sale of homemade baked goods to sell. If you would like to purchase a luminaria in honor or memory of someone that has survived cancer or been lost to it, you can do so at the concert. Concert is free admission. Love offering will be taken up during intermission. All proceeds collected at the concert will go to the American Cancer Society to improve and help find a cure and hope for those stricken with the disease.





Spring Swing

Bethlehem United Methodist Church will hold its 4th Annual Spring Swing charity golf tournament May 7 at noon at Westlake Country Club. Entry fee for golf is $65 and includes green fees and carts, prizes and Westlake’s backyard barbeque. Fees and forms are due April 24. Benefit Gospel Concert

On Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m., there will be a gospel benefit concert featuring the Lynch Station Men's Chorus. The concert will be held at Mountain View Union Church ( 460 West on Miller Lane behind Moose Lodge). All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Admission is free but a love offering will be taken for the Cancer Society. A bake sale will also be at the concert featuring homemade baked goods. Concert is being sponsored by Friends of Faith Relay Team.


Terrace View Baptist Church Concert

Terrace View Baptist Church, 1040 Matthew Talbot Road, Forest, Va. will be having a gospel music concert on Saturday, April 14, at 6 p.m. Music will be performed by Debt Free, Shirley Cofflin, and Tim Witt. Proceeds will benefit the TVBC Guatemalan mission trip in June. Refreshments following the concert.


Men in Suits –Women in Hats

The Pastor’s Aide Auxiliary of Washington Street Baptist Church, in Bedford, where the Rev. Henry A. Henderson is the pastor, will be presenting Men in Suits and Women in Hats to benefit the pastor’s anniversary. This event will take place on Saturday, April 14 at 3 p.m. The English Family will be in concert.


African Pastor Benefit Concert

Training Pastors International presents the 10th Annual Training African Pastors Benefit Concert, Saturday, April 14, 7 p.m., at Beulah Baptist Church, 528 Leesville Road, Lynchburg. Featuring the Rick Webb Family with special guest Kendra Cook-Penn and area choirs. Doors open at 6 p.m. $5 suggested donation at the door. Healing Service

         Mountain View Union Church will hold a  special Healing Service on Sunday, April 15 at 7 p.m.  In the community, families, churches and all around are many who are ill and suffering and need a touch from the Great Physician. Join in special anointing and laying on of hands for healing for anyone in need of healing.  Healing can be for needs of physical, emotionally, spiritually, financial. Mountain View is located on 460 West on Miller Lane, behind the Moose Lodge.  


Poplar Spring Anniversary

The Poplar Spring Baptist Church Usher Board will be celebrating its anniversary on Sunday, April 15, beginning at 3 p.m. The guest minister for this occasion will be the Rev. Waddell Jones, pastor of New Free Spring Baptist Church in Rustburg, accompanied by his gospel chorus, ushers and church family.


AWANA program

Sunday, April 15. Morgans Baptist Church is having its AWANA program this Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for preschoolers (age 3) through eighth grade. This week's theme is Sprint to the Finish! Mark Dubbeld Family in concert

Bethlehem United Methodist Church is hosting a concert presenting the Mark Dubbeld Family on Sunday, April 15 at 7 p.m. The group specializes in family harmony in Southern gospel music.

Mark and Janene Dubbeld and their five children, ranging in age from 20 to 6, each play an active role in the ministry—singing and playing drums, base and acoustic guitar. In addition, Janene writes songs, stories and devotionals and is a gifted speaker.

Mark has been a gospel singer since the age of 15; he has sung full-time for more than 25 years in churches, crusades and conferences.

“Mark is one of the most powerful vocalists in gospel music today. Janene is a gifted writer, singer and a talented artist at the keyboard. Family and Friends Day will be held at Reed Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, April 15, 3 p.m. In concert will be God Sent Angels, Minister Judy Watkins, Tanner Sharpe and more.

Adams Family concert

The Adams family from Natalie will be in concert on Saturday, April 21 at 6 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church. This is a birthday month celebration, sponsored by Marion Craghead. The Rev. Alvin Smith is pastor.


Blue Grass Gospel Music Social

Blue Grass Gospel Music Social at Center Point United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 21.  The "Blankenship Family Grass Band" will present this evening of  Gospel Music from 7-9 p.m.  There is no charge and refreshments will be served.  Center Point is located at 1177 Timber Ridge Road (1/4 mile off route 221 on right).

Appreciation Sunday

Sunday, April 22 will be Taylor's Mountain Appreciation Sunday at Cool Spring Presbyterian Church. Taylor's Mountain has long had a reputation as a wild, dangerous place full of moonshiners. What is not always known is that most people who live there are decent, hardworking people; people who work long hours at multiple jobs to provide for their families; people who are always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Mt. Olivet Church anniversary

Mt. Oilvet Baptist Church, Bunker Hill Loop, Pastor Jesse Waller, will celebrate its 142nd church anniversary program on April 22, at 3 p.m. The preacher for the service will be Dr. Jack Wilson from St. Paul Baptist Church.

Lighthouse FWBC to host Reed Creek Gospel Bluegrass band

The Reed Creek Bluegrass Gospel Band will be in concert on Sunday night, April 29, 6 p.m. at Lighthouse FWBC. This is a free event. An offering will be taken.
Reed Creek has been entertaining audiences in central Virginia since 1996. The group works hard to give their audience a wide variety of bluegrass favorites during every show. Whether they are playing for small gatherings at the local church, or for thousands of people gathered around a festival stage, the band's quality performance standards remain the same.
From four-part harmonies to blazing instrumentals, Reed Creek plays a wide variety of traditional and contemporary Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel that audiences are sure to enjoy.
