Coat, blanket drive

The Agape Center is holding a winter coat and blanket drive until the end of February. You can drop off at the following location: The Agape Center, East Lake Community Church, Bedford Baptist Church, Covenant Fellowship, Dwelling Place and Remax Lakefront. Parents Night Out

The Quest for Authentic Manhood - A men's only teaching

The Life Church - 217 West Depot Street. Starting Sunday night, February 12, at 6 p.m., Life Church will be starting a new men's only series, The Quest for Authentic Manhood. This series helps men understand their masculine identity by offering a clear definition of what a man is. It shows them how to make the pursuit of authentic manhood a lifelong priority that is incorporated into the fabric of their everyday lives by challenging each man to develop his own personalized manhood plan.


Thaxton Baptist Wild Game Dinner

The Christian Sportsmen Association of Thaxton Baptist Church will host its third annual Wild Game Dinner on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. The buffet-style meal will include wild game, vegetables, desserts, as well as meat selections for non-game eaters. There will be a program, music, door prizes, plus two grand prize drawings for a shotgun certificate and a muzzleloading certificate or equivalent cash values of each. Tickets are available for a donation of $7 per person and may be obtained early at the church office, Catron's Tire Service, or Overstreet's Cities Services. Washington Street Baptist Black History program

The Senior Usher Board of Washington Street Baptist Church, where the Rev. Henry A. Henderson is the pastor, will be celebrating its 23rd Annual Black History Program on Sunday, February 12, at 3 p.m. The program will consist of monologues, readings and poems, etc. The Men’s Chorus of Washington Street Baptist Church under direction of Mildred Padgett, will be the guest choir.


Western Light Baptist Black History program

The Western Light Baptist Church Family will celebrate Black History on Sunday February 12 at 3 p.m. with Robert Carson presenting a play titled “The Stranger.” Also on the program will be The Lovely Zion Gospel Chorus and The Soldiers of the CrossSingers.


Focus on Mission Day

Lighthouse FWBC hosts Crimson Flood
Liberty University's Crimson Flood Worship Team will be at Lighthouse Free Will Baptist Church on March 4 and will conduct the 11 a.m. Sunday morning worship service, which will include an emphasis on youth. This is an all day event.  LifeLine Screening uses painless ulstrasound (sonogram) to see the plaque build-up in your arteries - a leading cause of stroke.
