Coat, blanket drive

The Agape Center is holding a winter coat and blanket drive until the end of February. You can drop off at the following location: The Agape Center, East Lake Community Church, Bedford Baptist Church, Covenant Fellowship, Dwelling Place and Remax Lakefront. Brunswick Stew & Bake Sale

The Huddleston Community Church Youth group is sponsoring a Brunswick Stew & Bake Sale on Saturday, January 28, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Huddleston Methodist Church parking lot, corner of Smith Mountain Lake Parkway and Crab Orchard Road.  Support the youth in their efforts to raise money for a Summer Mission Trip.


Souper Bowl

A Soup and Sandwich “Souper Bowl” will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 5 p.m. at Nicoplis United Methodist Church. The event will raise donations for Meals on Wheels and Hunters for the Hungry.

On Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Goode, the Rev. William Goode, choir and congregation of New Life Baptist Church, Bedford, will be the guest. The Rev. Dr. Herman Robertson is pastor.
