The Spiritual Workers in concert


On Saturday, July 23 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Goode The Spiritual Workers of Central Virginia will be in concert. Sister Beulah Payne and the Forest Level Baptist Church family will present a play entitled, "The Challenge of the Cross." The Rev. William Watson, pastor.




Grace Memorial VBS

Grace Memorial Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School. Ages 4 and up. It will be held Monday - Friday, July 25-29, from 7-9 p.m. Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14. Armor of God VBS

Precept Schools of Virginia presents "Armor of God" Vacation Bible School for rising 1st - 5th graders from August 1 - 5, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at The Smith House - 1334 Longwood Ave. Snack provided. Register ASAP at www.preceptschoolsva.org.


VBS at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bedford

August 7-10, Vacation Bible School, “Growing With God”, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 314 North Bridge Street, Bedford. Growing With God will be held evenings beginning Sunday, August 7 continuing through Wednesday, August 10. Each evening will include dinner and then a program for all ages, children and adults. There will be music, drama, games and much more. Sign up early by contacting the Church Office at (540) 586-9582 for a registration form. When you register, indicate if you would like infant care for this event.


VBS Wednesdays

EastLake Community Church will hold VBS Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. on August 3 and 10, children (ages preschool – 12) from throughout the area are invited to participate in the VBS experience “Pandamania: Where God is Wild About You” at EastLake Community Church, 1118 Hendricks Store Rd. in Moneta. Vacation Bible School

Faith Life Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School July 18-22 each evening from 7-8:30 p.m. This year's theme is "Son-Surf Beach Bash." There will be refreshments, outdoor activities, games, crafts and classes for all ages.


Homecoming, revival services

The Mt. Rock Baptist Church will be having Homecoming on Sunday, July 24. Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be the Rev. Archie Freeman of Roanoke. Lunch will be served following morning service. The afternoon service will be the Rev. Tommy London, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Cloverdale along with his Gospel chorus and congregation.

Revival service will begin Monday night, July 25, through Thursday, July 28. Prayer and Praise service will begin at 7 p.m. and worship service at 7:30. The guest preacher for the week will be the Rev. Dr. Calvin L. Gray, pastor of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Appomattox. Music will be rendered by different choirs each night.


Revival at Mt. Olivet Baptist

The Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Bunker Hill Loop, will be having revival services the week of July 25-29. The preacher for Monday - Wednesday will be the Rev. C.J. Taylor from Oakmulgee. The preacher for Thursday will be the Rev. Al Dean. The preacher for Friday will be the Rev. Mitchell. Area choirs nightly.


Revival at Otterville Baptist

Annual Revival Services for the Otterville Baptist Church will be July 25-29. Services will begin at 7 p.m. each night. The Rev. Gary Lee of the Scott Zion Baptist Church will be the guest evangelist for the week.


Kids Fest

EastLake Community Church in Moneta will be holding Kids Fest July 26-29 in the evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., with a VBS, special activities for kids (ages 4-12) and other special events. The Kids Fest will be held under the tent on the church property just past the church facility on Hendricks Store Road, about ¼ mile from the intersection with Va. 122. Annual women's conference

Woman to Woman Ministries will be having its annual conference on August 3-5 at Family Life Christian Church International in Lynchburg. Host and founder is Pastor Sharon McQueen. Theme for this year is “Women of Change.” This event is free. There will be day and evening sessions and childcare will be provided for $3 per child per session. Yard, bake and produce sale

Saturday, July 23: Huge Yard, Bake and Produce Sale at St. John's Episcopal Church, 314 N. Bridge St., Bedford, from 7:30 a.m. until noon.  There will be household items, toys, books, collectibles, linens, tools, furniture, CDs/DVDs, sporting goods, and so much more!  This event will benefit Rwandan HUGS (Help Get Us Started), a non-profit project that assists the people of Rwanda rebuild their communities and their lives.


Gospel concert

The Oak Grove Baptist Church located in Forest and Pastor Aaron Payne have announced that they will have a Gospel concert July 23 at 4 p.m. featuring The Sensational Harmonizers of Central Virginia and The Spiritual Messengers of Appomattox.

Missionary Day

On Sunday, July 31, at 11 a.m. Missionary Day will be observed at the Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Goode. The Rev. L.L. Yuille of Rustburg will deliver the morning message music will be rendered by the Poplar Spring Baptist Church Male Chorus. The Rev. Dr. Herman Robertson, pastor.


Saturday, Aug. 6


One Day VBS – Beach Blast

Mountain View Union Church will hold a 1 day VBS on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Church ( Miller Lane behind Moose Lodge).

          The theme will be "Beach Blast" and there will be classes for all ages from toddler to adult. There will be a bible class, crafts, games and lunch provided. You must register by July 30 for this 1 day VBS. To register or for more info call  540-587-9012. 


Sunday, Aug. 14



Annual Homecoming will be Aug. 14 at Otterville Baptist Church. The Rev. M.D. Mays will conduct the 11:15 a.m. service. The Rev. Harland Brown and St. Paul Baptist Church will be the guests for the 3 p.m. service. Lunch will be served immediately after the morning service.
