Pastor anniversary

The Emmanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church Apostolic Faith will be celebrating its pastor's, Bis. E.M. Mitchell, 30th anniversary the week of July 3-10. The guest speakers for the week will include: Thursday - Evang. Pat Harriston, Glorious Church #2, Roanoke; Friday - Min. Regina Bonds, Haven of Rest, Bedford, Saturday will be a banquet at 6 p.m at Radford Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1293 Radford Road, Moneta. Guest speaker for the banquet will be Bis. Delmar Jackson from Abundant Grace Assembly, Roanoke. Music will be provided by special guest Jubilee Gospel Singers, Raleigh, NC, and Deaconess Teresa Redd as soloist from Kimball, WV. Bethlehem UMC to hold VBS

Bethlehem United Methodist will hold Vacation Bible School July 11 – 15 from 9 a.m. – noon at Epworth United Methodist in Moneta.

“Inside out, Upside down on Main Street: Where Jesus makes a difference every day” is the theme of this year’s VBS. Here on Main Street, kids will explore stories Jesus told about everyday people in everyday situations. But His stories took radical twists that challenged people to look at themselves and others in new and unexpected ways.

Kids will be challenged to retell Jesus’ stories as they make gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, grace, and faithfulness a part of their everyday lives.

Huddleston CC Vacation Bible School

Mountain View UMC to hold VBS

Why would a giant frog mascot  welcome you to this year's Vacation Bible School event? Because at Mountain View United Methodist Church the 2011 summer  theme is  F.R.O.G . (Fully Rely On God).

Loads of activities, stories , crafts, science, games and snacks for all ages.

Come early for  dinner at 6 p.m.  and let the fun begin from  6:30-:8:30 p.m.  from July 17 to July 21.

Adults are welcome too as there will be several classes available just for them while the kids

 are in VBS. Included will be a finance study, cooking an entre', parental support, Parents in Touch with VBS or how to participate in a music ministry. These classes are  offered one time during the week so pick and choose  the night you would like to join your friends and neighbors.

Vacation Bible School

July 10-14 there will be Vacation Bible School, Big Apple Adventure, held at Suck Spring Baptist Church, 3887 Jopling Road, Bedford. Classes will be held for ages 2 through adults, 6:30-8 p.m. each evening.


VBS at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bedford

August 7-10, Vacation Bible School, “Growing With God”, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 314 North Bridge Street, Bedford. Growing With God will be held evenings beginning Sunday, August 7 continuing through Wednesday, August 10. Each evening will include dinner and then a program for all ages, children and adults. There will be music, drama, games and much more. Sign up early by contacting the Church Office at (540) 586-9582 for a registration form. When you register, indicate if you would like infant care for this event.


VBS Wednesdays and Kids Fest

EastLake Community Church will hold VBS Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. on August 3 and 10, children (ages preschool – 12) from throughout the area are invited to participate in the VBS experience “Pandamania: Where God is Wild About You” at EastLake Community Church, 1118 Hendricks Store Rd. in Moneta. In addition, a special Kids Fest will be held July 26-29 in the evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., with a VBS, special activities for kids (ages 5-13) and other special events. The Kids Fest will be held under the tent on the church property just past the church facility on Hendricks Store Road. Summer Bible School

Prayer Outreach Ministries will have Summer Bible School through July 8, for ages 5 years and up, Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Located at 224 South Bridge Street across from Vista Foods. For enrollment call and leave message at (540) 586-3663.


Annual women's conference

Woman to Woman Ministries will be having its annual conference on August 3-5 at Family Life Christian Church International in Lynchburg. Host and founder is Pastor Sharon McQueen. Theme for this year is “Women of Change.” This event is free. There will be day and evening sessions and childcare will be provided for $3 per child per session. Prayer Revival

Four nights of Prayer Revival will be held at Freedom Outreach Ministries, 212 East Washington St., Bedford, where Evangelist Emma Hicks is the overseeing pastor. Dates will be July 7-10 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Pastor anniversary

On Sunday, July 10, beginning at 11 a.m. the church family of Washington Street Baptist Church, Bedford, will be celebrating the 42nd Anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. Henry A. Henderson. At the 11 a.m hour the Rev. James Cobbs, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church Esmont, Va., will be the guest minister and the Gospel chorus of the church will render the music, under the direction of Mildred Padgett. Lunch will be served immediately after the morning service.


Pastor anniversary

Join Reed Creek Baptist Church, Big Island, July 10 as they celebrate their Pastor the Rev. Allan Loving's 5th anniversary. The 11 a.m. message will be by the Rev. Ed McKoy. Lunch will be served immediately following the morning service. The 3 p.m. service by the Rev. John Spinner, choir and congregation of Gospel Fellowship Temple, Bedford will render the message.

Pastor anniversary

The Sharon Missionary Baptist Church of Big Island will be celebrating the 5th Pastoral Anniversary of the Rev. Dennis Moody on Saturday, July 16, at 5 p.m. with a concert featuring Regeneration of Gladys and the Rev. Waddell Jones of New Free Springs Baptist Church of Rustburg will serve as Worship Leader. The Taylor Family of Antioch Baptist and the Lovely Zion Gospel Chorus will also share on the program.

The anniversary will culminate on Sunday, July 17. at the 10:45 a.m. worship. The Rev. Preston Little will bring the Anniversary Sermon and the SMBC Inspirational Choir will minister through music. For more information, contact the church office at (434) 299-5151.

First Baptist Church of Goode will be having their annual homecoming on July 17, starting at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served immediately after morning service. On the evening program will be the Rev. James Harvey with his choir and congregation of Fork Union Baptist Church of Buckingham.
