Bethlehem UMC to hold VBS

Bethlehem United Methodist will hold Vacation Bible School July 11 – 15 from 9 a.m. – noon at Epworth United Methodist in Moneta.

“Inside out, Upside down on Main Street: Where Jesus makes a difference every day” is the theme of this year’s VBS. Here on Main Street, kids will explore stories Jesus told about everyday people in everyday situations. But His stories took radical twists that challenged people to look at themselves and others in new and unexpected ways.

Kids will be challenged to retell Jesus’ stories as they make gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, grace, and faithfulness a part of their everyday lives.

The community is invited to attend.

Community Worship Night

All denominations are invited to come together for worship on Saturday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at the Bower Center for the Arts, 305 North Bridge Street, in Bedford.

Community Unity Worship Night is based on the scripture Psalm 133:1 - "Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"

The purpose of Community Unity Worship Night is to encourage Christians to gather together as the body of Christ, along with regular attendance at the church of their choice, to meet other Christians in the community through worship and fellowship.

Community Unity Worship Nights began last year. In January they changed location to the The Bower Center for the Arts. The vision remains the same: To provide an opportunity for the saints from many different churches to join together in worshipping the Lord as active participants.

On June 25 Community Unity Worship Night will open with a Messianic Dance based on Psalm 133:1, presented by Elle Flowers and Friends. Ell toured internationally with the Messiah Dancers for recording artist and worship leader, Paul Wilbur.

Worship will be led by "His Moment Band" comprised of local musicians. A special song by Mark Laperle will also be featured. Mark will perform his original composition, "Sing Again," which was Joplin, Missouri's song choice to minister to the victims of the recent tornado.

Pastors are encouraged to attend, as well as invite their congregations. Momentum is already building with cooperation from Mountain View Union Church, The Life Church, Christian Life Ministries, The Cowboy Church, and a network of home churches.
