Christmas in Action

Saturday, April 30, Christmas in Action had its annual home repair day. They worked on 10 Bedford city and county homes; 179 volunteers along with members of the board performed various jobs of panting, electrical and plumbing work, carpentry, roofing, flooring and other tasks.

Workers were pleased that the weather was beautiful and so many folks, young and old joined in the days work. Lunches were prepared and delivered to the job sites by the Shepherd's Table volunteers. At 5 p.m. workers and household members were treated to a delicious dinner at the Presbyterian Community Center. Members of Pecks Baptist Church helped prepare and serve the evening meal as well as seven other churches donated desserts.

This annual project was completed by 14 area churches working together to make Bedford homes more livable.

If anyone needs assistance in repairs to their home for next year's work day in April contact Christmas in Action at (540) 587-0280.
