Healing Prayer group

The Healing Prayer Group meets every other Tuesday at Bedford Presbyterian Church. The prayer group focuses on self-healing and spiritual growth. The group will meet on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. promptly. For additional information, call Elizabeth at 586-8064.

 

New Prospect Church Revival

New Prospect Church, 4445 Sheep Creek Rd., will hold revival Oct. 11-14, 7 p.m. The Rev. Earl Ragland will deliver the message. Directions: past Johnson's Orchard, continue to end of paved road, church in the fork in the road. For more information call 586.1940.

 

Pastor Appreciation Month

The Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy has chosen “Pastor Appreciation Month” to introduce its new pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Lester, and his family.

The Rev. Lester, who has been a member of the Huddleston Church of God of Prophecy since 2002, was appointed to be pastor by State Overseer of Virginia (who himself was the long-time pastor of this church), Bishop Wayne Murphy. The Rev. Lester assumed the Pastorate in April 2011.

The Rev. Lester, his wife Sandi, and their two children Megan and Ryan, live at 1786 School Crossing Road, Lynch Station.

Sunday School classes begin at 9:45 a.m. with morning worship beginning at 10:45 a.m. Sunday evening service begins at 6 p.m., Wednesday evening Bible study begins at 7 p.m. for the adult group. The children and youth classes also begin at 7 p.m.

 

Celebrate Regeneration

Celebrate Regeneration is a Christ centered, biblically based program for individuals and their families who struggle with emotional distress and additictive issues. Based upon the proven world-wide ministry of Celebrate Recovery, CR provides a safe place for healing through God's love, grace and mercy. CR meets at 6:30 every Friday night at the Dwelling Place church in Moneta, (next to ShopRite, lower level parking area) 1050 Hendrick's Store Rd., Moneta. Phone: 540.598.HOPE (4673). No child care available at this time. Celebrate Regeneration begins with a Friday night barbeque Oct. 14, starting at 5:30 p.m. First CR meeting to follow at 6:30. Mentow plans special services

Mentow Baptist Church, Huddleston, will be celebrating 110 years of service/ministry on Sunday, October 16.  The day will begin with breakfast at 8:45, followed by Sunday School at 9:30.  The morning worship service will be at 10:30.  Immediatley following the morning services, there will be a covered-dish lunch, this to be served in the Fellowship Hall.

On Sunday evening, October 16, revival will begin and continue through Wednesday, October 19.  Services will begin at 7 each evening, and Commonwealth's Attorney Randy Krantz will be the guest speaker.

Fall revival

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Bunker Hill Community, will he having a Fall Revival Oct. 17-21. The preacher for the week will be the Rev. Dr. M.D. Mays from Otterville Baptist Church. Prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. and revival service will begin at 7:30 p.m.

 

Community Bible Study

Youth Day

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Bunker Hill Community, will be having Youth Day on Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. with Min. Charles Braxton, Associated Minister from Rising Sun Baptist Church will be the preacher for the morning service.

 

AWANA

Morgans Baptist Church is having its AWANA program Sunday, Oct. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for preschoolers (age 3) through eighth grade. This week's theme is AWANA Worker Appreciation Night. Clubers are encouraged to make a card for their leaders and bring them to club. If you would like to join the club, come by on Sunday or contact the church at 297-4959.

 

Anniversary services

Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Forest, 105th Church Anniversary will be held on Sunday, Oct.16.   Pastor Baker will preach the 11 a.m. service followed by dinner.  At 3:30 p.m. Dr. Joseph Keaton and his church family from the Central Baptist Church in Roanoke will be the special guests.
