Bedford City Council adopted Bedford’s first town budget in decades last week. The end result will be lower real estate taxes next year for residents currently living in the city of Bedford, once it becomes a town.
City Council voted, in a 4-3 vote, to provide an additional $5,000 for Bedford Main Street and and $1,000 to the Wharton Foundation.
“Both of these organizations do a great deal for the community,” said Jim Vest, who had argued in favor of this funding at a late May work session.
