The daily rates that Bedford County Nursing Home residents pay will go up, but not as much as originally advertised.
According to County Administrator Kathleen Guzi, Medicaid will reimburse the county at a higher daily room rate than what the supervisors set earlier this year. Without raising the room rate the nursing home stood to lose $75,000 in Medicaid money. The supervisors had set a daily rate of $155 for a semi-private room, $160 for a private room with a shared bathroom and $169 for a private room.
