The National D-Day Memorial consecrated a site for field chapel services, Monday on the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels, using a liturgy from the 1940 Service and Song Book for Soldiers and Sailors.
This service had a familiar quality to people familiar with Anglican worship forms. Dr. William McIntosh, the D-Day Memorial Foundation's director, said that this World War II service book derived a great deal from Episcopalian liturgy.
