The driver of a 2001 Ford Ranger that crashed into the Arby’s drive-through, just east of Bedford, on Aug. 5 has been identified as Jeremy Dean Brickey, 21, of Max Meadows, near Pulaski. Brickey was not carrying any identification at the time of the crash. According to State Police, the pickup truck Brickey was driving had been reported as stolen in Pulaski.

The truck had been traveling westbound on U. S. 460 when it left the highway, and crossed through another lot before crashing into the drive-through. Brickey, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Upon discharge, he was placed in custody and taken to the Roanoke City Jail. There, he was charged with stealing the truck he was driving. He was also charged with DUI and driving revoked.
State Police say that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
