Girl's father faces charge

    Elvin Gene McCombs Jr., the father of a Bedford teenager named in a lawsuit that alleges a former deputy sheriff had an inappropriate relationship with her, was served a summons on Sunday for misdemeanor assault and battery of an unnamed family member.
