Bedford County Group Homes opened in its own home last November, after having operated out of rented facilities since first starting in 1997.
The facility now consists of several brand new buildings off Falling Creek Road.
Paul Tesi, the group home's executive director, said that the county originally decided to set up its own group home because it wasn't satisfied with results of other residential placement programs. These residential placements are, under certain conditions, mandated by state law.
