Confederate History, Heritage Month
April 1 marks Confederate History and Heritage Month and all across the south, governors and local leaders have signed proclamations to honor the Confederate Veterans who fought and died to defend hearth and home.
Not so in Virginia, the very State who called the men to fight.
I find it a great shame that our state and local leaders wont do the right thing and show them official recognition. Bedford, I call on you my local leaders to make April confederate history and Heritage month within the town of Bedford and Bedford County please do not over look this.
The people and pets of All-American Mutt Rescue in Huddleston, would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who supported the Spay-ghetti Fundraising Dinner to benefit AAMR, Barn Cat Buddies and Bedford Humane Society on Sunday April 6. The dinner was a huge success thanks to so many generous supporters of animal rescue.
Special thanks to Gil and Karen Smith, owners of Casa D’Amici in Moneta where the dinner was held. This is the second year that the Smiths have generously donated so much and hosted this event. The food is amazing, the service is stellar, and the Smiths go above and beyond to make everyone entering their restaurant feel welcome and appreciated. Without their support this event could not happen.
We also want to thank the volunteer committee – Rick and Sarah McDonald, Paul and Pat Greier, Susan Pratt, and Pat Santoro for working with the Smiths to organize this event.
And last, but certainly not least, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to the event or who simply made donations to the event! It is difficult to adequately express how much we truly appreciate the support you provide to the rescue efforts.
