Little Town Players (LTP)  normally runs a theater day camp each summer. This year, according to Karen C. Hopkins, they aren’t able to do it, so they are assisting the Bedford Police Department with Cop Camp. The theater group made a donation of $500 to help the effort.

Cop Camp will be held at Bedford Science and Technology Center from July 8 through July 12. According to Officer Joe Dooley, who will head up this year’s effort, this is the police department’s ninth Cop Camp. The day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to youth ages 9 through 14. There is no charge to camp participants and lunch is included, also at no charge to participants.
Registration for Cop Camp begins on May 28 and parents must come to the police department, located on the basement floor of the Municipal Building, to register their children as there is a form that they will need to complete. There are a limited number of openings and they are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call the Bedford Police Department at (540) 587-6011.
According to Hopkins, LTP plans to resume its theater camp next year.
