On Saturday, Oct. 27, Bedford participated in Make a Difference Day for the 8th consecutive year.

On this national day of community service, more than 100 individuals took part in worthwhile activities. The staff of Bedford Community Resource Center would like to thank all of the groups, businesses, organizations, and individuals who made a difference for the eighth year in a row! Our thanks go to the Safe Haven staff, parents, and children as well as the female residents of Bedford County group home for visiting local nursing homes.

We appreciate the Sedalia Baptist Church Youth Group for painting beautiful murals on the partition inside the Bedford Community Christmas Station. We are grateful to Peck's Baptist Church Youth Group for picking up trash near their church. We are thankful for the male residents of Bedford County Group Home for performing yard work for elderly citizens.

Our appreciation goes to the Key Club of Jefferson Forest High School for sprucing up the grounds at two local schools. Thanks also go out to Bedford Martial Arts for collecting food for the Resource Center food pantry. Our gratitude also goes to Jefferson Forest Middle School Character Counts classes for cleaning up the grounds in and around the Bedford County Parks & Recreation office.

We are also very grateful to Olde Liberty Station, Rapid Printing, Berglund Automotive, Frito Lay, The Keeping Room, Wal-Mart, Family Dollar, Food Lion, Kiwanis of Bedford, Bedford Central Library, and Bedford Hardware for supporting the community service activities and the volunteer luncheon on Oct. 27. And, a great big "Thank You!" goes to Linda & Bob Chadziewicz and Jacqui Hughes for helping with the volunteer luncheon. Thanks to all of you for making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors!
