Next Tuesday's elections should be interesting. Although most incumbents facing reelection have no opponent, some people have tossed their hats in the ring to give voters a choice.
In House of Delegates' 19th District, Delegate Lacey Putney, an independent, is being challenged by Lewis Medlin, a Democrat.
Putney has held the seat for 46 years and is the most senior delegate in that legislative body. He notes that this seniority is important.
"It means more than you can describe in words," he said.
