Looking for fun, interactive, and educational activities for your kids this summer? Consider signing your child up for some of the programs at the National D-Day Memorial in July and August. The Memorial’s annual “Growing up in World War II” summer day camp is open now for registration. The camp runs Wednesday, August 11 through Friday, August 13 from 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Fourth through sixth grade students will enjoy hands-on history activities, crafts, conversations with veterans, period games, and even rationing-era snacks. All campers receive a camp T-shirt and souvenirs. Camp fees are $60 for the first child and $50 for each additional child. Fees include T-shirt, craft and activity materials, daily snacks, and instruction. Space is limited (only 35 participants) and preregistration is required. A $20 nonrefundable deposit is due at the time of registration. Children are also encouraged to sign up for “Victory Garden” lessons.
