Our country is going to have to take some big steps to reduce our debts

Balancing the budget is crucial to our nation’s long-term financial health. Especially in these difficult economic times, we need to stop playing games with the deficit we are creating for our children. Everyone agrees that current spending levels are unsustainable over the long term, which is why I voted against the President’s budget last year. This year, we failed again to produce a balanced budget, so I voted against the Democrats’ so-called budget cap for this year.
