Papa (or Mama) frog was captured taking a swim with one of the young ‘uns in this photo by Dale Stelhorn. The action was caught last month at a pond near the entrance to Falling Creek Park, in Bedford County. Dale used a Nikon D-5100 camera with a 55-300/4.5-5.6 lens. The settings: 1/4000, F-11, ISO-6400. Why such a high ISO? “I’m just starting out with the nature photography,” explained Dale. “I retired from teaching elementary school in Wayne, NJ after 36 years. I learned that fast action was necessary with the children, and nature seems to respond in the same way, thus the 6400 ISO.” If you have a nice sports or nature photograph that you’d like to submit as a Photo of the Week, send it to Mike Forster, sports@bedfordbulletin.com
