Snow came to Richmond this week. As is often the case around Capitol Square, the anticipation of the snow was a great deal more fearsome that the snow itself, which amounted to around an inch. As a result, the work here at the Capitol continued without interruption.
The big news story of the week involved the legal troubles of Virginia’s former Governor and First Lady, Bob and Maureen McDonnell. The McDonnells will face federal charges in a trial this summer, and the news – though not unexpected – had a decidedly downbeat effect on the mood on Capitol Square.
