School board adopts $102M budget

-A A +A
By John Barnhart

ounty School Board met to trim its budget to fit within the amount provided through the funding sources it relies on.
School board members unanimously adopted a $102 million budget that includes $36 million in local funds.
The trimming process was not as traumatic as it has been in previous years. This is because, as District 3 Supervisor Steve Wilkerson noted after a board of supervisors meeting last month, the school board got 72 percent of what it asked for in its request for increased local funds.
