Bedford County Public Schools spokesman Ryan Edwards announced that the county's schools will open on a two hour delay Wednesday morning. The decision was made due to forecasts of low overnight temperatures and high winds.
Along with the need to keep children from having to stand outside at bus stops wind chills as low as minus 15 degrees below zero, the question of whether school busses would start was a factor leading to the decision to close schools on Tuesday. Edwards said school staff tried to test start eight school busses scheduled to run on Tuesday morning. Seven of them would not start.
