  Staunton River, long an underperformer in athletics, made two bold moves to help bolster itself in that area.

First, it switched from the Seminole District to the Blue Ridge.

Second, it acquired a brand spanking new gymnasium.

Along with some smart personnel moves, switching districts and building the new gym seem to be paying off.

While the Eagles have not become dynastic in any sport (or even a powerhouse, for that matter), it is difficult to identify a sport where they are still considered doormats.
