You may have seen the story on the front of the Dec. 15 Bedford Bulletin.
On Wednesday next week, the Bulletin's Web site, www.bedfordbulletin.com, will become a subscription-based news and information source.
So what does that mean to you, our loyal readers?
If you’re a Bulletin subscriber, you’ll continue to have access to all of our news, features and Web-related products online. You won’t have to pay extra for it. However, you will need to sign up for an account, and you will need a number on your subscription label to do so.
If you already subscribe to the Bulletin, go to http://www.bedfordbulletin.com/subscription_services and click the link for “Activate Existing Account.”
You’ll need a number on your subscription label, so have a recent edition accessible when you sign up. There’s a help image on the sign-up page that will show you exactly where to find your account number. Just fill in the blanks online and you’ll have complete, 24-hour access to our comprehensive news coverage for Bedford and Bedford County.
That’s the starting point. If you’re not already a Bedford Bulletin subscriber and you want to continue to access our award-winning news coverage online, you’ll need to sign up for an account and purchase a subscription. Look for the “subscribe” button at the top of www.bedfordbulletin.com or call 586-8612 and ask to speak to someone in the circulation department.
If you’re not already a subscriber, you’ll have the option of trying a 30-day free online trial. Once you sign up, if you like what we have to offer, we hope you’ll become a full-time subscriber to our newspaper.
Online, you can get a subscription to the print and online product or you can choose to purchase an online-only subscription. An online-only subscription will give you access to our electronic e-edition. Each week you’ll have instant access to a digital copy of the full version of our print newspaper.
You’ll be able to check out photos and read all of our stories. Plus, you’ll have instant access to all of the advertisements on our news pages as well as our special sections. You’ll also be able to read our classifieds and check out our real estate listings.
As publisher Jay Bondurant pointed out last week, subscription revenue is an important part of funding for our news and information efforts. It’s important to us our readers help pay for these services regardless of the version they choose to read—print or online.
And remember, while our newsprint product is published weekly, we update our Web site as news happens. We value your readership and want you to visit our site often. That’s why you’ll find breaking news stories, photos, videos and more updated throughout the week.
Don’t miss your chance to have immediate, online access to our news stories. We strongly believe we are the most comprehensive Bedford-area news source. You won’t want to miss all of the things we’re writing about.
So, if you have a subscription already, don’t wait. Go ahead and sign up today. If you don’t have one, join us for a free trial.
