Two decomposing bodies have been discovered at an Evington home.

On Saturday July 19, at 1:30 p.m., a Bedford County sheriff’s deputy responded to a home at Tucker Terrace, Evington, after receiving a call from a neighbor, according to Major Ricky Gardner of the Bedford County Sheriff's Office.

The caller said he went to the address because he had not seen the woman and her son who lived there for several days. Gardner said when the man arrived at his neighbor's home, he found the partially decomposed body of a female in the yard. After arriving on the scene and while checking the area, deputies subsequently found the remains of a dog and the partially decomposed remains of a male.

The victim’s remains were transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke to be positively identified and cause of death determined.
