Local folks will have another chance to be in the movies this weekend.

John Johnson, director for Plan 9, will be coming to Bedford this weekend for what he calls “pick-up shoots.” He described these as “random little shots that get put in the movie.”
Plan 9 is a remake of the 1950s film Plan 9 from Outer Space. The plot involves aliens from outer space who raise recently dead humans from their graves to do their bidding in an effort to keep humans from eventually destroying the universe. It has the dubious honor of being the worst movie ever made.
Johnson promises that the remake will be “schlocky” but with much better special effects.
What they are looking for are children dressed for Halloween to come to the Bedford Welcome Center on Burks Hill Road at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
“They’ll be done by 2 p.m.” he said.
Johnson said that whoever shows up will get in the movie, and he’s hoping a lot will show up. That’s because these shots will need lots of people in them.
He is also looking for people who are willing to decorate their house for Halloween. Johnson said that they will use any houses that are in the city or close to it. If you want to have your house in the movie, decorate it for Halloween and send Johnson an e-mail at p9movie@gmail.com. In the e-mail, give him your address and directions on how to get to your house.
The movie will be finished this year and Johnson hopes to have a screening of it in Bedford sometime around Halloween.
