Women's basketball teams lay collective goose egg

-A A +A

All three are swept from playoff picture

By Mike Forster

In one, a Bedford County team was the underdog.  In another, a local crew was the favorite.  In a third, it appeared to be a toss-up.

None of that mattered as Jefferson Forest, Liberty and Staunton River absorbed losses in their first games of the post-season.

Jefferson Forest lost to powerful Bassett.  Liberty was upended by a Rustburg team it had beaten twice this season.  Staunton River lost in a match of evenly matched teams, when it fell to Alleghany.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda.
