By the time you read this, the supervisors will have set the real estate tax rate, at their April 14 meeting, for the next fiscal year. However, that has not yet happened, as of this writing so I don’t know what that will be. The supervisors heard a lot of opposition to their proposed tax hike at last week’s public hearing. After the hearing, Board Chairman John Sharp’s wife jokingly said she will run against him in the next election if he votes for the 3 cent rate increase. John said that, if she does, he will vote for her.
