  • Treble Tapestry to hold area concerts

        Treble Tapestry will host a Benefit Concert Series April 15-17, including a performance in Bedford, to conclude its fifth season.
        Treble Tapestry is a women’s ensemble with 25 to 30 auditioned members. The group focuses on the education, performance and sharing of music for women’s voices. The members of Treble Tapestry represent different ages groups and have different interests and talents, but they all love to sing.

  • Singing Valentines

        In 1994, around 10 singers from Roanoke got together to form the Smith Mountain Lake Harmeneers chorus.  They were chartered by the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, now simply called the Barbershop Harmony Society.  The Barbershop Harmony Society’s motto is, “To keep America singing.”

  • Art at the orchard

    Gross’ Orchard now features an artists’ village.

        It’s just down the road from the orchard’s sales area and signs point you to it. Ronnie Gross, who along with his father, Walter Gross, run the orchard said that they started construction in June. It consists of some small buildings providing sheltered spaces for local artists to display and sell their work. There is also space where tents can be set up.
        It’s called “Artists’ Village by the Stream.”

  • Bedford Friends of Library host Angela Easterling with Brandon Turner in concert

        Join the Friends of the Bedford Public Library, Inc. on, Saturday, Aug. 14, at 7:30 p.m. as they host Angela Esterling in concert. The concert held in the Bedford Room of Bedford Central Library is open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 per person collected at the door.
