Central Virginia will be riding the next wave in nuclear reactor technology, according to Christofer Mowry, president of Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Energy.

Neal and Jennifer Hoback, who own Mayberry Early Learning Center, like children. They have three of their own, ages 3, 10 and 13.

They also noticed that there was an unfilled daycare market in the Moneta area. Most daycare facilities are open only a few hours a day. Mayberry Early Learning Center, which opened for business on Aug. 25, can take children at 6:30 a.m and keep them until 6 p.m. They can take in babies as young as 6-weeks-old or children as old as 12. They currently have 18 young children enrolled.

Bedford's Little Caesars is now cooking up pizzas at its new location directly across U. S. 460 from Bedford's Wal-Mart.

The pizza restaurant had been in the old Winn/Dixie shopping center at the west end of Bedford for 16 years. The new location, according to Patrick O'Connell, is part of a new strategy to get the restaurants out of strip malls and into bright, visible, stand-alone facilities.

Actually, O'Connell owns more than the Bedford Little Caesars. He owns a multi-restaurant franchise. He opened his 20th restaurant in Roanoke in April.

Tim Deaton and his friend, Matt Shaw, both bicycle enthusiasts, got tired of having to go to Lynchburg to buy bicycle parts. Deaton talked to other bike enthusiasts in the area that had the same problem.

This looked like a business opportunity to Deaton and he decided to open a bicycle shop here. As a result, Liberty Bikes and Boards will open for business on May 29.
