Dr. Ken Stifler sees hundreds of patients a year who have attempted to take their own lives. He's hoping that a book he's recently written will help prevent some future cases from happening.
Stifler, who lives in the county a few miles from Bedford, is a mental health consultant for Lynchburg General Hospital's emergency room. He's part of a team that is called in when a person comes in, or is brought in, who has either attempted suicide or says that he's considering killing himself. He said that the team sees at least 150 people per month in this condition.
