Staunton River will seek out its first win of the season when it hosts Alleghany this Friday night at the Eagles' nest.
River (0-5, 0-2 District) hope to break its 20-game losing streak, which extends back to the middle of the 2006 season.
Alleghany might very well take the form of the Eagles' best shot at that goal. The Mountaineers are off to a less-than-stellar start, standing at 2-3 midway through the season. The team, however, has won its last two starts, over Covington and Bath County.
