Last month Joe Goode, an Elks Home resident, was honored with the ARBE award for service to the elderly. Goode spends a lot of his time taking elderly folks, who can no longer drive, to medical appointments as well as visiting those who are hospitalized. Goode, who is 91, is actually older than many of the people he helps.
Service isn’t something new to Goode. As a young man, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, including 35 bombing missions over Germany in a B-17.
