    Blinded by the Right

    A plea for answers

    Speaking out

I am and have been a citizen of Bedford County for over 60 years.  I normally try not to get involved in politics and government matters. But this situation with our former County Administrator, Kathleen Guzi, is weighing on my mind, and I feel it is time for me to speak out.

    Thanks to Ms. Guzi

Now that the forced resignation of County Administrator Kathleen Guzi, by some members of the Bedford County Board of Supervisors has been accomplished, it’s now time to thank Ms. Guzi for her many years of service to our community.

    Going rogue

“If they don’t like what we are doing here, they can go. I’m sure the road they came in on has a lane that goes in the opposite direction. “--Roger Cheek, Bedford Co. Board of Supervisors. [Bedford Bulletin, Jan. 25, 2012

    Disappointing response

The attitude expressed by Mr. Cheek in the Bedford Bulletin on January 25 is disappointing. His comment that those who do not agree with him should leave the county does not contribute to resolving the serious flaws in his rezoning proposal.

  • Letters 01/25/12

    Thankful for opportunity to serve

I would like to express my most sincere thanks to the residence of District 6 and citizens of Bedford County, for allowing me to serve as your School Board Representative for the past 16 years and 6 months.

    Battle provides for less fortunate

The weeks leading into Christmas were so very busy and exciting for the 1st ever Battle of the Stockyards. Even though we only had a few short weeks to achieve our goals, all three of the stockyards did a wonderful job. Each stockyard was to raise 200 cans of food for RAM house and 200 toys for Toys for Tots. While each stockyard did not quite meet their individual goal, collectively we did a great job of helping these two organizations during their greater times of need.
