    Disappointing response

The attitude expressed by Mr. Cheek in the Bedford Bulletin on January 25 is disappointing. His comment that those who do not agree with him should leave the county does not contribute to resolving the serious flaws in his rezoning proposal.

    Thankful for opportunity to serve

I would like to express my most sincere thanks to the residence of District 6 and citizens of Bedford County, for allowing me to serve as your School Board Representative for the past 16 years and 6 months.

    Battle provides for less fortunate

The weeks leading into Christmas were so very busy and exciting for the 1st ever Battle of the Stockyards. Even though we only had a few short weeks to achieve our goals, all three of the stockyards did a wonderful job. Each stockyard was to raise 200 cans of food for RAM house and 200 toys for Toys for Tots. While each stockyard did not quite meet their individual goal, collectively we did a great job of helping these two organizations during their greater times of need.

        Thanks to Rick Howell

Rick Howell you are a gem in this sea of far right conservatism and religious fundamentalism.  You keep a finger in the dike of truthfulness while all around you Republican (R) falsehoods abound.

    Forgiveness: A great gift

After leaving Vista Foods onto Washington Street, going west, I was stopped at the stoplight.
As I wanted to turn right on Bridge Street, I knew a moment of contemplation was ahead for me (no right turn without a green light). I gazed at Bedford Hardware and saw something that sort of took me by surprise. The sign/banner simply said, “Christmas, a time for forgiveness.”

    Awesome

I would like to comment on how good the Christmas lights in town look. They  are finally up facing the street. They look a w e s o m e! Way to go.

    What’s wrong

This is to address the letter by Bill Isaac, published in last week’s Bulletin.
His second sentence of the third paragraph states: “I didn`t vote for Sheriff Brown simply because he has the R beside his name and I`m a transplant from Detroit and a union worker for the past 25 years.”  I submit that he is a prime example of what`s wrong with this country today.
