    Investigation should continue

When the CIA’s use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” for extracting information from prisoners first came to light, I was outraged. Outrage turned to shame when my government, at the highest level, not only failed to condemn what must be called torture, but actually defended it as a legitimate tool in their War on Terror.

    Fundraising help needed

For over 10 years the Saunders Volunteer Fire Company has been hosting the Independence Day Fireworks and Celebration at Parkway Marina. It is our major fund raising project. Thousands of residents and guests to the lake participate in the celebration and view the fireworks. Expenses for this event have far exceeded our expectations and we need your help to continue.

    Bedford Rotary Club thanks Applebee’s

The Bedford Rotary Club would like to thank the local Applebee’s for allowing them to hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Saturday, April 9. With their generous support and help the Bedford Rotary Club raised more than enough funds for a Disaster Relief Shelter Box to help those in need somewhere in the world. Thanks to Applebee’s for its community support.

    Disappointed

I was very disappointed to hear that there were some teachers advocating the closure of Bedford Primary School at the April 11 Bedford Board of Supervisors meeting.

We did it! We lost more in Season 4

Season 4 came and went with 26 participants, some of who were in previous “Biggest Loser in Bedford” sessions. It all is due to this wonderful idea of a healthier life style, versus just a “diet.” Diets come and go but those who attended this year’s “Biggest Loser” can attest to its success, especially those who have attended in the past three seasons.
