Today's Opinions

  • Trump has no immigration policy

What first brought Donald Trump to our attention last year was his racist shrieks about how “Mexico is killing us,” and “not sending us their best.”
“Rapists and thieves,” he said, are what most illegal immigrants are, and that he would “build a wall” and make Mexico pay for it.

  • A good learning experience

We love receiving letters to the editor and we strive to assure every locally written letter gets printed. Of course, we aren’t going to print anything that’s libelous or obscene and we do insist that letters address public issues. Letters that fall in these limited “we won’t print that” categories are rare.

    Supports Hillary

Anyone who has seen those yellow school buses knows school has started. Anyone who has turned on a television, or logged onto the internet knows this is an election year. An election year usually means schools spend a great deal of time teaching our children the electoral process.

    Stifling growth

The liberal Democrats refer to themselves as progressives, but when it comes to economics they promote just the opposite.
Thanks to capitalism the USA became the most advanced civilization since the fall of Rome, yet the progressive liberals want to stifle this growth with socialism and over regulation. The thing that did the most to advance civilization was using fossil fuel for heat and energy, but the progressive Democrats are deceiving the public with the global warming scare tactics.

  • Growing an economy that works

Pencils, notebooks, backpacks, calculators – all of the essentials for heading back to school. You probably wouldn’t send your child to the first day of school without going over the check list and making sure they had everything they needed for a successful year. Likewise, when they finish school and head out on their own, you’ll want to be certain that they have the benefit of a strong economy.

  • Exploring the roots of ‘Trumpism’

After Mitt Romney’s loss in the presidential race of 2012, the Republican National Committee carried out what it called an “autopsy” to determine how the party could produce better results in the future.
Pardon me, but autopsies are for dead bodies, aren’t they? Well, if Republicans suspected they might be dead after 2012, what will they think if Trump goes down to the repudiating defeat he seems likely to reap?

  • We are no longer safe

We have been treated to a spate of Muslim terrorist attacks and harassments aimed at Christians and Jews in the last few weeks. Last week, a Jewish Rabbi in France was stabbed by a man shouting “Allahu Akbar” during the attack. Last month, a French priest was murdered in his church, while conducting mass, by two knife-wilding Muslim unholy warriors.
