    Stupid people?

I am not a bit amused to be called stupid for voting for Donald Trump.

  • From the Ashes

    By Russell C. Baskett

    Cofounder, President & Executive Director
    SML Good Neighbors, Inc.

A little after 5a.m. on Thursday, November 10 a tractor-trailer ran off the road near Morgans Church Road in Bedford County and crashed into the headquarters of SML Good Neighbors.

  • The slugs come out at night

As The White Man’s Last Stand takes shape in Washington, it’s possible to feel that you’re watching a concrete wall when the sun goes down, observing the slimy creatures that crawl out upon it.
Yes, the slugs come out at night. Those who will serve the incoming Slug-in-Chief don’t have to meet even minimum standards of decency or qualifications, because, well, he didn’t either.

  • Let’s give thanks for our democracy

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, a day that should include, along with eating so much that we lapse into a coma after dinner, an attitude of thanks for what we have and the good things that have happened over the year.

  • Give thanks

    Isaiah 12 NIV

4 In that day you will say:
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.
5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.

    I Thessalonians 5 NIV

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

    Psalms 107:1 KJV

    A good hire

I was reading this week’s newspaper, and on the front page was a story about a policeman named Chevon Thompson.
I had the pleasure of meeting him at the YMCA about a month ago. He was working out in the weight room. And I said to myself, man that’s a big fellow. After watching him for a little while working out, I finally asked him which football team he played for.

  • With a new administration comes a chance for a new start

  • It’s time to unite and get to work

The simplest way to make your voice heard is to show up at the ballot box. After all, the right to vote is critical in protecting all of our other rights. On Election Day, millions of voters came to the polls and put their support behind their candidates for the White House and Congress. The votes have been tallied, and Donald Trump is set to serve as the 45th President of the United States.
