  • Military base in Okinawa should close

Nothing illustrates better the need to close many U.S. military bases around the world than the decades-long controversy over the American naval base in Okinawa, Japan.
Earlier this month, a 24-year-old American sailor was indicted for the alleged rape of a Japanese tourist, who was attacked while unconscious in a hotel room.

  • The pains of tax season call for a new tax code

There are very few certainties in life. One of those, however, is that Tax Day comes around each year. By the time the April 18th deadline passes to submit 2015 tax returns, millions of Americans will have experienced our broken tax code firsthand yet again. A very appropriate quote by an unknown author sums up the feelings of many during tax season: “People who complain about taxes can be divided into two classes: men and women.”

  • Cooperation between local, state, and federal government better serves the people

    By Congressman Robert Hurt

  • Trump is as much of a fool as Obama

Donald Trump spent months declaring that he’s going to make America great again, without telling us much about how he intends to accomplish this. I don’t think this has been part of an effort to conceal anything. I’m sure Mr. Trump doesn’t know, himself, what he will do.

  • The absolute absurdity of Trump’s campaign

As this was written, it looked as though Donald Trump might lose the Wisconsin primary to Ted Cruz, thereby giving some hope to the “Never Trump” forces in the Republican Party.
Regardless of what happened, the stop-Trump effort may well be too little, too late. The party could indeed be on the way to the most idiotic decision it’s made in its recently troubled history.

  • Seeking a more transparent Federal Reserve

Don’t you want to know how the federal government spends and leverages your taxpayer dollars? Odds are that the answer is a resounding “YES.” However, the Federal Reserve, the nation’s central bank and an independent federal agency, has been subject to very little scrutiny. That shouldn’t be the case, especially given that the Federal Reserve, or the Fed, is responsible for monetary policy decisions that affect every American.

  • Failed policy

While President Obama was busy in Cuba making nice with the human-rights breaking Castro regime, Muslim terrorists were at work in Belgium bringing havoc to that country and the rest of Europe.

  • Terrorist attack impacts American politics

Prior to the two terrorist attacks, in Belgium, Donald Trump was the only candidate talking about Muslims being a potential threat to American’s safety. He’s called for temporarily stopping immigration from Muslim-majority countries. Now, Ted Cruz has joined in. He’s calling for police surveillance of Muslim neighborhoods.
