Just last week the House Majority unveiled their proposed budget resolution for fiscal year 2009, which calls for the largest tax increase in American history: $683 billion over the next 5 years. This proposal significantly increases the tax burden on the middle class to pay for new wasteful government spending. Facing a slowing economy and an increased cost of living, Americans have to tighten their belts and carefully budget their hard-earned money. It?s time the Federal government did the same.

The Bedford Christian Fellowship focuses its attention this month on the struggles of children, women, and men living in what has become known as single-parent households.

I don't know if you are as excited as we are at my house about the government giving us some of our money back through the soon-to-come stimulus payments.

After all, it is our money. And the federal government has proven it has little sense in spending it wisely. But that's a thought for another time.
