  • Giving thanks for our military in dangerous times

  • Being thankful

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5 KJV

We truly have so much to be thankful for.
Times may be difficult, but we can all find something this year to bow our heads for and give thanks to the Giver of all good gifts.

  • Nous sommes tous français

        We are all French.

  • The bloody results of religious fanaticism

In the wake of the latest terrorist attacks, word came before press time about the death of the instigator of the events in Paris. One can’t help but wonder. Did death bring him what he expected?
He had committed himself to a violent path of extremism in the name of Islam, but violated the real teachings of that religion by killing a lot of innocent people. He met his own death before the age of 30.

  • Why we’re thankful

    By James F. Burns

An Ohio farm girl’s 1895 ride over a mountain is a metaphor for why we’re thankful for being Americans.  In a letter back home to her parents, Mary tells the story of her trip—from ”trial and tribulation” to triumph—tracing out our nation’s own exceptional journey.
Mary was traveling to Virginia to take up a new job as an art teacher.  Her train arrived at Cumberland Gap at 5 a.m., only to find the tunnel through the mountain had caved in.
