        Personalized learning isn’t a Bedford County idea; it’s the way the world is now operating.
        Check out most college and university academic programs and you will find students being offered, and many compelled, to take online courses as part of their studies. Many students opt to spend their entire college career in an online program. Even the smallest colleges are utilizing this type of learning model.

  • Is he being honest?

        Although  we’re still hearing a lot of fussing and fuming from Republican Party leaders about Donald Trump, I think they are going to come to terms with the fact that, like it or not, he is going to be their party’s nominee for president.  They will grudgingly begin to support him as the only alternative will be Hillary Clinton getting elected. That would be dreadful.

        When you or your loved one suffers from a medical emergency, it is Virginia’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel who are relied upon to respond quickly to the call for help and provide quality prehospital care. Last year, EMS providers responded to just over 1.4 million calls for help in Virginia, approximately 3,879 incidents per day.

    Change in old guard

        From the Bower Center renovation, to tax abatement and economic development programs, to Bedford Main Street, we have definitely seen a change in the old guard that once prevented Bedford from flourishing.

    Rate increases unneeded

        At its April 12 and 26,2016 meetings, Bedford Town Council voted to increase the Electric Utilities rate, the Meals tax and rejected the Transient Occupancy tax. As a council member and Chair of the Finance Committee, I recommended against and voted against these increases because I believe they are unnecessary.

        Most people would assert that the right to bear arms or the freedom of religion should be celebrated because this is what makes America unique.  However, these rights would not be possible if the right to free speech was not a part of the United States Constitution.  The freedom of speech allowed the founding fathers to create the democratic government that American citizens take for granted today.
