    Faith, family and freedom

Having choices through elections is an American standard; preferring one choice does not necessarily mean that we are adamantly or rudely opposed to another.  It simply means that we prefer one for specific reasons and we make that choice.

    Driven to
    distraction

Just as sure as the sun rises in the east, two or three times a year Billy Hackworth writes to the Bedford Bulletin complaining about Sheriff Mike Brown. Why is that? He may have some good points, but they are obscured by his obsession with and vendetta for Sheriff Brown.

    National Dog Bite Prevention Week

In April, the United States Postal Service promoted National Dog Bite Prevention Week.
I am writing to ask our customers to extend their efforts and help make this “National Dog Bite Prevention Year.”
Pet owners’ efforts are critical when you consider the number of Postal Service employees attacked by dogs last year reached 6,755 - more than 200 higher than the year before.

    Hope for the Heartland

Early this spring, massive wildfires swept thru the rangelands of western Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. Hundreds of thousands of acres of pasture, thousands of miles of fence, thousands of cattle, numbers of homes were burned and 7 people lost their lives. Local families with friends and relatives that live in that area kept them informed of the situation. I would like to give some credit to the many people that helped out in this awful situation.

The multi-faceted circus that has taken up residence in the White House these days has had at least one positive effect: It’s galvanized many of the 48 million people who cast ballots for vote-winner Hillary Clinton.
Even many of those who helped His Accidency sneak in through the Electoral College, by staying home or voting for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein, now realize that the Trump regime represents a profound menace to much of what moderates, liberals and progressives hold dear in this country.

    John 19: 5-6
5 When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”
6 As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!” But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.”

    Luke 23:44-47
44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,
