Greetings once again.
It’s time for the latest quarterly update on the actions by and issues confronting the Bedford County Board of Supervisors. Besides, it’s budget season, a most critical and intense period on the calendar.
On behalf of Lake Christian Ministries board members, cherished volunteers and the hundreds of SML-area neighbors who we assist each week, I would like to publicly express our awe and sincere appreciation for the Lake Community’s response during the “Roanoke Valley Gives” on-line fundraising event last week.

Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and the American Pickers team are ready to return to Virginia to film episodes of the hit series throughout central and southern Virginia in May.

Boxwood blight (also known as box blight) is a serious fungal disease of boxwood that results in defoliation and decline of susceptible boxwood. It has been identified in Bedford and we are raising awareness in an effort to minimize its impact.
There’s been great progress at the Bedford County Animal Shelter in recent years that is a tribute to the staff, area animal welfare groups, and residents.
The number of animals going in has gone down, and the number of animals going out alive has gone up.
